Our friend Cheryl Schaefer and her "family" of 16 employees have been hand dyeing variegated yarn commercially since 1980 in Interlaken, New York, a village just north of Watkins Glen in our beautiful Finger Lakes region. Each and every skein of yarn is individually hand-painted.

Schaefer originated hand- painted yarns!  The result: 36 unique colorways available in wool and wool blend yarns, plus 18 colors in the finest pima cotton in the world. Coming this summer is Susan, a delicious sport weight, 100% mercerized pima cotton.  Schaefer supports all of
their fibers with patterns to knit or crochet; and weavers
will find their yarns a pleasure to work with, as well.
